Community Health Physician Inova Cares for Families - Pride Clinic (MD/DO) Fairfax, VA, United States Job Identification: 684462 Posting Date: 07/02/2026, 04:40 PM Job Schedule: Full time Locations: Inova S Washington Job Description: Inova Cares Clinic is seeking a compassionate and experienced Family Medicine Physician to join our newly established LGBTQ+ Primary Care Inova Cares Clinic, the first dedicated LGBTQ+ clinic in Northern Virginia. This physician will play a key role in delivering comprehensive, affirming, and inclusive primary care services to individuals of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and gender-diverse experiences. The successful candidate will provide both in-person and telemedicine care, helping advance Inova's commitment to health equity, patient-centered care, and improved health outcomes for LGBTQ+ communities.     Job Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive primary care services for LGBTQ+ patients across the lifespan.
  • Deliver evidence-based, culturally responsive healthcare in both outpatient and virtual settings.
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Provide preventive care, health screenings, vaccinations, and wellness counseling.
  • Develop long-term therapeutic relationships with patients in an affirming and inclusive environment.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including behavioral health, specialty care, nursing, social work, and community partners.
  • Promote health education and disease prevention initiatives tailored to LGBTQ+ populations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support the continued growth of LGBTQ+ health services within Inova.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • Significant clinical experience caring for LGBTQ+ individuals.
  • Active Virginia medical license or the ability to obtain an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing inclusive, patient-centered care.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience working in ethnically, culturally, and racially diverse environments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds and identities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience providing gender-affirming care and LGBTQ+ health services.
  • Experience with telemedicine and virtual patient care.
  • 2-3 years of experience in Community Health
