Senior Solution Architect
Senior Solution Architect KBR's Mission Engineering Division delivers complex technical solutions and expert support to the U.S. Department of Defense, specializing in modeling and simulation, cyber transformation, air vehicle mission integration, and lifecycle support. KBR is seeking a Senior Solution Architect to serve as a strategic technical and programmatic leader supporting Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Dahlgren. This role functions as a trusted technical advisor, translating NSWC mission needs into integrated, executable solutions aligned with KBR's technical capabilities, engineering expertise, and delivery resources. The position plays a critical role in shaping capture strategies, influencing solution design, and advancing new business opportunities across NSWC Dahlgren's mission areas. The ideal candidate brings deep technical credibility, program management expertise, and a strong understanding of the NSWCDD environment, including experience working with warfare centers, prime contractors, and government stakeholders across research, engineering, and operational domains. Roles & Responsibilities :
- Serve as KBR's primary technical authority and subject matter expert for NSWC Dahlgren, maintaining a strong understanding of customer missions, priorities, and emerging needs.
- Lead the architecture and design of integrated engineering and technical solutions, aligning NSWC requirements with KBR's capabilities and delivery model.
- Act as a principal technical writer and solution owner for proposals, including solution narratives and technical volumes, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and evaluation criteria.
- Partner closely with the NSWC Dahlgren Account Manager to shape account strategy, solution positioning, and customer engagement activities.
- Perform detailed technical analysis of statements of work, informing solution design, staffing models, pricing assumptions, and execution risk.
- Identify and track niche technical and engineering opportunities across NSWC Dahlgren mission areas and communicate insights to capture and business development teams.
- Engage in industry days, customer briefings, and solicitation events related to NSWC Dahlgren to inform opportunity development and solution strategy.
- Provide early opportunity identification and qualification, delivering actionable insights and recommendations to Business Development.
- Apply your program management and engineering experience to assess delivery approaches, risks, and feasibility during capture and proposal phases.
- Active/Current Secret Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 12 years of experience supporting federal defense, naval research, engineering, or warfare center programs, or commercial equivalents.
- Demonstrated experience serving as a technical lead, subject matter expert, chief engineer, program manager, or solution architect on complex engineering or technical programs.
- Experience in analyzing and responding to federal statements of work, translating customer requirements into executable technical solutions, and proposal content.
- Proven ability to engage with government customers, prime contractors, and internal delivery teams in a technical leadership capacity.
- Prior experience supporting NSWC Dahlgren programs, divisions, or mission areas.
- Experience collaborating with business development and capture teams, including authorship of technical proposals, solution narratives, and pricing inputs.
- Experience with electromagnetic spectrum operations, electronic warfare, RF systems, radar, communications, modeling and simulation, or related mission domains.
- Familiarity with OTA consortia, industry working groups, and non-traditional acquisition approaches.
- Active or previously held U.S. government security clearance (TS/SCI eligibility preferred).
