Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) – $75/Hour | Pediatric Critical Care | Norfolk, VA | Full-Time Contract

We’re seeking an experienced and highly skilled Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time contract role in Norfolk, VA. This position offers competitive pay, consistent scheduling, and the chance to make a lasting impact providing advanced care to critically ill children in a high-acuity environment.

Ideal candidates will have extensive PICU and CVPICU experience, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to adapt quickly across multiple pediatric care settings.

Position Highlights:

Pay Rate: $75/hour
Work Setting: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) / CVPICU / Float Pool
Location: Norfolk, VA
Schedule: 12-hour Day or Night Shifts | 36 hours per week | Every Other Weekend Required
Employment Type: Full-Time Contract
Referral Bonus: $500 for successful placements

Registered Nurse (RN) Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive, compassionate care to critically ill pediatric and cardiac patients
• Manage post-neurosurgery, respiratory, trauma, and cardiac care cases
• Administer and monitor specialized medications such as versed and narcotic analgesia
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
• Accurately document assessments, treatments, and progress notes in the EMR
• Float to general and specialty care units within skill set as needed
• Maintain the highest standards of infection control, patient safety, and clinical quality

Registered Nurse (RN) Requirements:

• Active RN License (Compact or VA) – Required
• BLS, PALS, and NRP Certifications – Required
• Minimum 5 years of nursing experience preferred
• PICU and CVPICU experience – Required
• Demonstrated proficiency managing post-neurosurgical, respiratory, and complex cardiac cases
• Completion of general and critical care orientations (PICU, NICU, or ED)
• Flu vaccination required; no exemptions permitted
