Surgical Tech Job Details – Norton, VA

• Position: Locum Tenens Surgical Technologist (Travel Surgical Tech)
• Location: Norton, Virginia (Southwest Virginia healthcare jobs)
• Setting: Hospital Operating Room / Surgery Department
• Start Date: September 21, 2025
• End Date: December 21, 2025
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm (8-hour shifts)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1870 - $1920
• On-Call: 8–10 call shifts/month; weekend call (Friday 3:30pm–Monday 7:00am); 30-minute response time required

Surgical Technologist Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with current credentials
• Valid AHA BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Surgical Tech in a hospital setting
• Experience providing scrub coverage for OB/c-section cases
• Permanent residence must be at least 100 miles from Norton, VA
• Active Surgical Tech license in hand at time of application
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Facial hair must comply with CDC fit testing guidelines
• Willingness to complete drug screening and compliance modules prior to start

Surgical Tech Responsibilities

• Perform scrub duties for surgical specialties: General Surgery, Orthopedics, OBGYN, Pulmonology (bronchs, ion bronchs), and Endoscopy (colonoscopy, endoscopy)
• Provide on-call coverage, including OB/c-section cases as needed
• Support three operating room blocks daily
• Collaborate with the surgical team to deliver safe, efficient patient care
• Participate in orientation and complete all required compliance modules
• Maintain a 30-minute response time for all call cases
