Staff Accountant

Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional with 1+ years of experience talented in Excel (and possibly QuickBooks)? We are seeking a Staff Accountant to take ownership of general ledger reconciliations, financial statement reviews, and audit preparation. This is a role for someone who thrives on accuracy, meets deadlines with ease, and enjoys the "puzzle" of resolving cross-functional financial issues. This position is located in Chesapeake and offers a hybrid work schedule. Interviews are being held immediately.

salary: $29 - $32 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM
education: Bachelors

Responsibilities

 Perform monthly financial statement reviews
 Prepare and complete monthly general ledger reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts
 Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries and variance analysis
 Identify discrepancies and work cross-functionally to resolve issues promptly
 Support annual audits by preparing schedules and providing documentation as needed
 Assist with process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function

Skills

• Accounting (1 year of experience is required)
• General Ledger Reconciliation (1 year of experience is preferred)
• Financial Statement Review (1 year of experience is required)
• Month-End Close (1 year of experience is required)
