Location:  Onsite – Falls Church, VA (5 days/week)

Job Type: 6 month contract with possible extension

Compensation:  $60 / Hourly / W2

About the Role: Addison Group is supporting a well-established technology services firm that is seeking a Mid-Level Cybersecurity Analyst to support security operations across client environments. This is a hands-on role for a security professional who can monitor and analyze SIEM platforms, conduct vulnerability assessments, and support CMMC compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate will also have enough network engineering background to provide coverage support when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and events using SIEM tools (Splunk, Security Onion, or equivalent)
• Conduct vulnerability scans, assess findings, and prioritize remediation based on risk scoring
• Support CMMC compliance efforts including control implementation, documentation, and evidence collection
• Assist in maintaining and authoring System Security Plans (SSPs) and Plan of Actions & Milestones (POAMs)
• Perform network troubleshooting and support as needed VLANs, VPN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
• Collaborate with the Director of IT on security improvements and client-facing initiatives
• Support incident response, threat analysis, and root cause investigations

Top Skills:

• SIEM monitoring and analysis — Splunk, Security Onion, or Elastic
• Vulnerability scanning tools — Nessus or Tenable
• CMMC and NIST 800-171 framework knowledge
• Network fundamentals — TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN, DNS, DHCP
• Active Directory and Azure AD administration
• Security documentation — SSPs, POAMs, compliance evidence

Qualifications:

• 4-7 years of experience in cybersecurity or a combined security and network engineering role
• Hands-on SIEM and vulnerability management experience required
• Familiarity with DoD or federal compliance frameworks strongly preferred
• Security+, CEH, CCNA, or equivalent certifications preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or equivalent experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
