We are currently hiring a CYBERSECURITY COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST to support the modernization efforts of a federal agency.

Position Location:

This position offers hybrid work options. Our office is in Fredericksburg, VA right next to the Fredericksburg (FBG) Amtrak/VRE station.

Position Description:

Responsible for providing clear and concise communications services using approved messaging that includes cybersecurity vulnerabilities, associated risks, and recommended mitigation measures. These communications are disseminated through various predetermined channels such as email notifications, Microsoft Teams, and security bulletins. Timely and accurate information enables the organization to prioritize and apply patches and updates effectively, thereby reducing the risk of exploitation and safeguarding critical assets from cyber threats.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide regular updates and advice to the organization while collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate security awareness into organizational processes and projects in accordance with current and emerging security trends, threats, and technologies

Develop communications aimed at educating staff about cybersecurity best practices, policies, and procedures by creating engaging and informative communications materials, including presentations, videos, bulletins, and newsletters

Provide written recommendations on Government drafts of executive summaries and briefings

Provide recommendations and input on other content and presentations

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field

Security+, CISSP, or related cybersecurity certification

5 years of experience in cybersecurity concepts and risk assessment/management methodologies

5 years of experience working with technical subject matter experts

5 years of experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and working in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities

10 years of experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Forms)
