Nail Technician

Hammer & Nails is a men’s luxury barbershop. We specialize in delivering exceptional grooming experiences designed exclusively for men.

We are seeking a Part-Time Nail Technician to join our Northern Virginia shops. We have locations in Reston, Leesburg, and Gainesville.

You must hold a Valid Virginia Nail Technician or Cosmetology License (highly preferred). If you are not licensed, you will need to commit to completing within two years our in-house state sanctioned nail tech apprenticeship program.

Pay:

• The hourly range is $17 to $20 per hour to start. With gratuity, this adds another $10 to $20 per hour.

Hours:

• This is a part-time position. Must be able to commit to weekend and evening hours.
• The shops are open from 8am to 8pm.

Ideal Schedule:

• Mon – Fri: 4pm to 8pm (close)
• Sat/Sun 9am to 6pm/7pm. Extra hours available on holidays

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide professional 30, 45, and 60 minute manicures and pedicures tailored to men’s grooming needs.
• Maintain the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation for all tools and workstations.
• Prepare and reset service areas between clients; ensure towels, tools, and products are well-stocked and ready.
• Recommend and educate clients on nail and skin care products to enhance their experience.
• Deliver a consistently elevated level of hospitality, anticipating client needs and exceeding expectations.
• Support shop cleanliness and upkeep, including disinfecting and organizing all nail stations.
• Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with trends and Hammer & Nails service standards.
• Collaborate with the team to create a welcoming, professional, and efficient shop environment.

Qualifications:

• Valid Virginia Nail Technician or Cosmetology License ( highly preferred ). If you are not licensed, you will need to commit to completing within two years our in-house state sanctioned nail tech apprenticeship program. Mentors and tutors along with requisite training materials are available.
• Proven experience providing manicures and pedicures in a salon or spa environment.
• Excellent attention to detail, cleanliness, and sanitation practices.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
• Passion for delivering men’s grooming and luxury service experiences.
• Incentives available for cross shop resources but not required.
