As a Security Guard - Telecom Patrol - Part Time in Ashland, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a dynamic tech and media environment, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintaining a secure atmosphere for employees and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related issues.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activities or conditions that may require attention.
  • Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and/or contractors to provide assistance and uphold security-related protocols.
  • Complete written reports and logs as required by Allied Universal and the location.
  • Remain alert to changes in the environment and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with access control by verifying authorization of individuals entering certain areas.

Minimum Requirements:

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A valid guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
