About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to support federal government construction projects. The ideal candidate has strong field safety leadership skills, expertise in EM 385‑1‑1, and a proven ability to enforce safety compliance on complex projects.

Location: Arlington, VA | Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily safety inspections and enforce corrective actions
• Lead safety briefings, toolbox talks, and orientations
• Develop and manage APPs, AHAs, and site-specific safety plans
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EM 385‑1‑1
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective measures
• Coordinate safety with project leadership and subcontractors

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years construction experience
• 3+ years as Site Safety and Health Officer on federal government projects
• OSHA 30 Construction certification
• Strong knowledge of EM 385‑1‑1
• Proficiency with USACE RMS and Microsoft Office
• Strong communication and leadership abilities

Security Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a clear background check, fingerprinting and successful suitability required for government contracting prior to onboarding.
