It is time to explore new challenges in your career. The Insurance Smith is an independent, privately-owned, Property & Casualty firm in Fredericksburg, VA. We are looking to add a full-time Sales Assistant to our office!

What You Will Be Doing

• Prepare, complete, and submit new business applications.
• Process endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and rewrites.
• Review policy documents for accuracy before and after issue.
• Maintain organized client records in the agency management system.
• Respond to client inquiries regarding policy changes, billing, ID cards, certificates of insurance, and other service needs.
• Handle post-issue requests such as updating vehicles, drivers, addresses, or mortgagee information.
• Follow up with carriers on underwriting requirements and pending applications.
• Resolve simple client concerns and escalate complex service issues to the agent.
• Send welcome kits, renewal reminders, and thank-you notes.
• Proactively reach out at policy milestones (e.g., renewal, mid-term review).
• Support cross-sell and up-sell efforts through scheduled check-ins and scripted outreach.
• Track and log all client communication for future reference.
• Manage calendars and reminders for follow-ups.
• Run quotes in rating software when needed to support the sales process.
• Prepare proposal packets for the agent.
• Assist with reporting and pipeline tracking.

What You’ll Bring

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills (Required)
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) (Required)
• Proficiency with agency management systems, rating platforms and CRM systems (Required)
• Prior insurance agency or administrative experience (Preferred)
• Property & Casualty license (Preferred and must obtain within 120 days)
