Blaster
Job Summary: As a Blaster in our manufacturing plant, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of blasting equipment to prepare surfaces for subsequent manufacturing processes. You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our products by removing surface contaminants and imperfections.
Key Responsibilities:
Surface Preparation: Use abrasive materials, such as sand, grit, or shot, and specialized equipment like sandblasters, shot blasters, or abrasive blast cabinets to clean and prepare surfaces for further processing.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), ensuring proper ventilation, and following safety protocols for equipment operation.
Material Inspection: Inspect workpieces before and after blasting to identify defects or areas that may require additional attention.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on blasting equipment, such as cleaning nozzles, changing abrasive materials, and reporting any equipment malfunctions or defects to maintenance personnel.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that the blasted surfaces meet the specified cleanliness and roughness standards as required by the manufacturing process or customer specifications.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of blasting activities, including the type and quantity of abrasive materials used, equipment settings, and inspection results.
Efficiency: Work efficiently to meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards.
Collaboration: Coordinate with other members of the manufacturing team to ensure seamless workflow and efficient production processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Understanding of safety procedures and protocols related to abrasive blasting.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials and work in confined spaces if necessary.
- Attention to detail and quality-oriented.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Lift and carry heavy objects.
- Work in various weather conditions, including hot and cold environments.
- Wear appropriate PPE, including respirators and protective clothing.
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to noise, dust, and chemicals.
- May require occasional overtime and weekend work to meet production demands
