Job Summary: As a Blaster in our manufacturing plant, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of blasting equipment to prepare surfaces for subsequent manufacturing processes. You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our products by removing surface contaminants and imperfections.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Surface Preparation: Use abrasive materials, such as sand, grit, or shot, and specialized equipment like sandblasters, shot blasters, or abrasive blast cabinets to clean and prepare surfaces for further processing.

  2. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), ensuring proper ventilation, and following safety protocols for equipment operation.

  3. Material Inspection: Inspect workpieces before and after blasting to identify defects or areas that may require additional attention.

  4. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on blasting equipment, such as cleaning nozzles, changing abrasive materials, and reporting any equipment malfunctions or defects to maintenance personnel.

  5. Quality Assurance: Ensure that the blasted surfaces meet the specified cleanliness and roughness standards as required by the manufacturing process or customer specifications.

  6. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of blasting activities, including the type and quantity of abrasive materials used, equipment settings, and inspection results.

  7. Efficiency: Work efficiently to meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards.

  8. Collaboration: Coordinate with other members of the manufacturing team to ensure seamless workflow and efficient production processes.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Understanding of safety procedures and protocols related to abrasive blasting.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials and work in confined spaces if necessary.
  • Attention to detail and quality-oriented.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry heavy objects.
  • Work in various weather conditions, including hot and cold environments.
  • Wear appropriate PPE, including respirators and protective clothing.

Working Conditions:

  • Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to noise, dust, and chemicals.
  • May require occasional overtime and weekend work to meet production demands
