Overview
The Revenue Cycle Financial Counselor is responsible for proactively managing the patient financial responsibility for the organization. This role will be responsible for communicating with the patient to obtain payment or provide payment plan options, financial assistance opportunities, grant qualifications, and presumptive eligibility for programs. The financial counselor will be able to explain the patient liability of rendered services and the patient's payment options.
Responsibilities
Ability to communicate Centra's financial policy. Maintains the required documentation to meet organization, state, and federal guidelines for financial assistance. Assists patients with third-party application process for zero-interest loans. Responds to inquiries for assistance in a timely manner. Maintains current knowledge of and complies with established policies including patient confidentiality/patient rights, government, and third-party payer regulations as they relate to patient financial clearance. Collaborates with individuals at all levels of the organization where necessary. Attends all mandatory organizational in-services meetings and education programs as scheduled. May perform other duties as assigned or requested and job specification can be modified or updated at any time.
Qualifications
Required Education: High School Diploma / GED Required Experience: Minimum of two (2) years' experience in revenue cycle operations or customer service. Must possess superior oral and written communication skills. Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment and be able to effectively work independently.
