Intensive Program Clinician I or II-Regional Mobile Crisis (NRV, Blue Ridge, Mt. Rogers area) ($5,000 Sign on Bonus)

Clinician II Starting Salary: $64,035-Depending on Experience

Key Responsibilities:
- Works with team members to write and update required assessments of needs and strengths to meet the admission and ongoing provision requirements for Regional Mobile Crisis program. Ensures the proper pre-authorization documentation to qualify for and receive payment for all services rendered are submitted within allowable time frames and maintained in the record.
- Writes effective and measurable individualized service plans as required upon admission, as the needs of individuals served change, and at least once annually thereafter. Works to ensure supports and interventions are provided as stated in the plan. Ensures all assigned plans are reviewed at least quarterly.
- Provides counseling within scope of practice. Assists with crisis resolution and general problem-solving. Provides crisis supports as assigned. If qualified and trained, completes psychological testing.
- Collaborates with other agencies and NRVCS programs to ensure that all services reflect the individuals' needs. Monitors satisfaction with services provided and helps individuals served complete satisfaction surveys as needed.
- Promotes independence by teaching and modeling life skills such as: personal hygiene, nutrition, understanding of mental and physical health and well-being, methods to access assistance, financial management, coping skills, self-esteem and self-reliance.
- Ensures services are provided with respect to the dignity of the individuals served as outlined in the human rights regulations. Also reports any observed or suspected violations of the human rights regulations according to NRVCS Human Rights policy.
- Ensures all safety, health, and universal precautions are properly addressed and monitored. Completes NRVCS Incident Report forms by the end of the shift for any observed or suspected incidents that involve individuals served or staff welfare and/or safety.
- Provides psycho-education to individuals served and families/care givers to promote better understanding of behavioral health related topics. Works to establish linkages between individuals served and naturally occurring supports in their family and community. Participates in on-call rotation.
- Performs at the expected levels of individual and team productivity. Maintains complete and accurate medical records, and completes all administrative documentation (i.e.: PowerTime, incident reports, leave requests, extended stays, satisfaction surveys etc.) on time. Stays informed about and follows all NRVCS and funding sources' policies and procedures.
- Strives to promote continuous quality improvement of services through the timely completion of QA activities (i.e.: Level II reviews, satisfaction surveys, outcome measurement reports, etc.). Works with team to ensure all services are provided at the expected levels of quality and are in compliance with all applicable agency policies as well as any local, state, and federal requirements including guidelines as they pertain to Medicaid reimbursement.
- Promotes positive communication and collaboration among team members and other community resources needed to provide quality services. Conducts self in a professional manner at all times. Participates in team meetings unless absence is excused, completes proper written communication in Communication Logs, and relays other helpful information as necessary by voice mail and/or e-mail. Serves on designated teams, committees and work groups.
- Ensures all required certifications and/or licensure are kept up to date. Attends/provides other training as required to meet personal professional development and/or program needs.
- Completes other tasks and duties as assigned by Supervisor, Program Manager, Program Director and/or Senior Director
- Requires clinical competence in managing suicidal clients. As well as, demonstrated knowledge of crisis intervention models and theories and resources available to help children and adolescents with serious emotional and developmental disabilities, including individuals with co-occurring disorders (MH/DD, MH/SA, and MH/DD/SA), and their families/care givers in the community.
- Demonstrated ability to provide mental status examination, diagnose according to the DSM-V, establish least restrictive treatment, and provide Brief Solution-Focused Treatment.
- Knowledge of the use of psychotropic medications, drug overdose, common medical complications that may mimic psychiatric illness and the ability to assess the need for medical detox.
- Ability to work as part of a clinical treatment team is essential, as is the ability to cooperatively with emergency services and other agency staff and to appropriately interact with community referrals.
- Working knowledge of Medicaid guidelines as they pertain to crisis stabilization, emergency, and community service provision.
- Knowledge and understanding of best practice treatment modalities for serious mental illness, intellectual and developmental, substance use and co-occurring disorders to include behavioral supports and interventions.
- Must possess a valid driver's license (state of Virginia, unless otherwise approved by agency) with an acceptable driving record. Must maintain acceptable record throughout employment.
- Must have an acceptable criminal history background and child protective services check upon hire and maintained throughout employment;
- Must have acceptable drug screen results upon hire.
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or other licensed eligible filed is required
- State of Virginia professional licensure eligibility is required.
