Tax Manager

Kforce has a client that is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join their growing and innovative public accounting firm in Fredericksburg, TX. This role is ideal for a client-focused tax professional who thrives in a leadership capacity, brings strong technical expertise, and enjoys building trusted advisory relationships. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing complex tax engagements, mentoring staff, and contributing to firm-wide growth and efficiency initiatives. Key Responsibilities:

• Proactively build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering exceptional service and clear, timely communication
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing accurate tax guidance, recommendations, and strategic considerations
• Manage and oversee tax provision preparation, review, and support on complex engagements
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation and filing of all required federal, state, and local tax forms
• Identify tax risk management issues and develop practical solutions for partner review and consideration
• Lead, mentor, train, and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment
• Actively participate in business development efforts, including client expansion and referral opportunities
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Active CPA or EA license (required)
• 5+ years of public accounting experience
• 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role within a public accounting firm
• Demonstrated experience managing and interacting directly with clients across multiple communication channels
• Strong technical taxation knowledge with the ability to apply concepts to real-world client scenarios
• Proven leadership skills with a passion for coaching and developing others
• Experience supporting or leading business development initiatives
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Advanced knowledge of applicable accounting and tax software systems
