Mother/Baby RN Job Details

• Location: Salem, VA 24153 (Roanoke Valley – Virginia healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Maternity Care Center (Mother/Baby, Postpartum, Wellborn Nursery)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Duration: 6 weeks (8/11/2025 – 9/22/2025)
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend night shifts per 4-week schedule (Friday/Saturday)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,490 - $2,560 per week
• Scrubs Provided

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Virginia or compact state)
• Minimum 1 year of recent OB, Mother/Baby, or Postpartum nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN certifications required
• Energetic, self-directed, and adaptable healthcare professional
• Ability to float within the maternity unit as needed

Mother/Baby RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns in a 9-bed Labor/Delivery/Recovery (LDR), 8-bed Postpartum/GYN, and 23-bed wellborn nursery
• Assist with labor and delivery, cesarean sections, postpartum care, and newborn assessments
• Participate in OBED triage, labor inductions, and collaborate with certified nurse midwives
• Maintain accurate patient documentation using Centricity Perinatal and Meditech EMR systems
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including couplet care nurses, birth response nurses, labor & delivery nurses, and scrub techs
• Adhere to patient ratios and maternity unit protocols to ensure safe, high-quality clinical care
