c Job Description: Individual will serve as a Q.E.D. Systems Naval Engineering Technician assigned to a Mechanical, Structural, or Electrical and Electronics Design Department involved in the development of Ship Availability Design Packages, including installation drawings, work specifications, material and equipment lists, test documents and engineering calculations in support of U.S. Navy Ship Change Documents (SCDs) and ship modernization requirements. The Q.E.D. Systems Naval Engineering Technician will report to a Q.E.D. Systems Naval Engineering Supervisor. Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements/skill sets: Must have a minimum of 5-years of experience; including the preparation of and modification of engineering drawing, engineering investigations, engineering reports, test agenda, system diagrams for Navy Ships. Experience must include ship checks, and the design and working plan development for construction, conversion, modernization, and/or alteration of U.S. Naval Ships. LCS and other Surface Combatant experience is preferred.
Education Requirements: High School, Trade School, Industrial School, or Correspondence School, with courses in algebra, plane geometry, trigonometry, and mechanical drawing/AutoCAD, with at least 2-years formal education in a technical/vocational school, apprentice school, or equivalent
Security Clearance/Naval Facility Access: U.S. citizenship required. Must be able to meet and maintain eligibility for U.S. Secret Clearance and/or be able to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.
