Customer Service Clerk I
- Provide warm, professional, and efficient service to all visitors in person, by phone, and via email.
- Facilitate animal adoptions, intakes, transfers, redemptions, and other related processes in accordance with established policies.
- Review and approve adoption applications, ensuring all candidates meet eligibility criteria.
- Educate the public on responsible pet ownership and applicable city, state, and federal animal ordinances.
- Collect and process fees and donations; issue receipts and provide relevant educational materials.
- Accurately reconcile and report financial transactions on a daily and monthly basis.
- Maintain and update records in the department's software system, including animal medical records, licenses, and reports.
- Receive and document lost and found reports; track pet identification and notify owners as needed.
- Maintain inventory and submit purchase requests for customer service-related supplies.
- Uphold citizen privacy and ensure concerns are communicated appropriately to supervisors.
- Distribute surveys and collect feedback to help improve services and community engagement.
- A friendly, energetic, and professional individual with a passion for public service and animal care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive or emotional situations with empathy.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Comfortable with computers and data entry; experience with customer-facing software is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
