This Position reports to:
Process and Product Engineering Manager

In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage a team of designers/engineers to deliver high quality, cost effective, and timely engineering solutions to customers. Each day, you will formulate plans and allocate resources to meet the agreed contractual and financial targets. You will also showcase your expertise by initiating, coordinating, driving, and overseeing team development and continual improvement of processes and procedures to strengthen the engineering and design capability.

The work model for the role is onsite.

This role is contributing to the ABB Power Protection in Richmond, VA Manufacturing Unit.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Providing direction to the engineering team with a focus on functional safety, cybersecurity, on time delivery, quality, and margin improvement.
  • Ensuring the projects/ operations value chain portfolio follow sound methodology and execution practices in accordance with internal standard procedures and that the projects are closed as per the contract specifications.
  • Initiating, coordinating, driving, and overseeing continual improvement of processes and procedures to strengthen the engineering / design capability and efficiency, utilize agile methodologies to reduce engineering lead time, and enhance functional safety and cybersecurity.
  • Driving team performance to ensure that the deliverables are met on time and as per the set contract specifications and safety, cyber security, and quality requirements.
You will be reporting to the Product and Process Engineering Manager and you will join a talented and high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.

Qualifications for the role
  • You are immersed in product development and industrialization and you enjoy working with data centers, healthcare, process automation and transportation market.
  • Degree in Manufacturing Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree.
  • Ability to demonstrate your experience in manage and lead a team in a fast-paced environment. You have over 8+ years of experience in electrical manufacturing or similar engineering field.
  • Possess an enhanced knowledge of Engineering change management, production cycles, time studies, new product development and industrialization within the electrical industry.
  • You have a proven experience in product cost reduction .
  • You have a consistent experience with SAP ERPs and PTC Windchill PLM (or any other similar PLM system).
  • Good communication skills
  • Fluent English speaking and good in writing
  • Taking responsibility, ownership and making decision with risk
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
