Women's Health Navigator- Registered Nurse Part Time

First (Days) Overview: Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Women's Health Navigator Registered Nurse for a part time, day shift in Charlottesville, VA! Hours- 20 hours per week, minimum 4 days per week on site. Consistent days preferred for reliable timeframes for staff and physician follow-ups. Some flexibility for evenings is needed for training, support groups, and tours that will take place outside of the hospital setting within the local community.

Program development activities include the activities necessary to ensure the long-term success and growth of the program. Program development activities typically account for 40% of the Navigators' time and include: patient education, program development, patient satisfaction, continuous improvement and data collection, research and marketing. This integral position is designed to decrease fragmentation of care and coordinate services. The navigator creates a seamless flow through the health care system for the patient and family with family centered care as the focus. LDRP: Sentara Martha Jeffersons Women's Health includes L&D, and a 24 bed post-partum mother/baby. Our Level 2 newborn specialty care nursery has a 1 to 1 ratio while our intermediate care babies have a 1 to 3 nursing ratio. Our LDRP unit also offers post operative care for complex GYN and Breast surgical needs. This specialty area has a 100-member team cross trained to offer best in class healthcare to Charlottesville, VA, and surrounding areas. The schedule is primarily 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends and holiday requirements. - BSN required
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- Registered nursing license required
- EFM- Electronic Fetal monitoring preferred
- Certified Obstetrics Nursing preferred
- Education certification preferred.
- 3 years of acute care registered nurse experience in Women's health- Required.
- Education or navigation experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of patient safety protocols.
- Manages complex cases in fast-paced environments
- Communication with patients and providers
