** Working Hours:

  • Time: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Days: Monday to Friday

** Job Summary:

**

The Mechanical Assembler 1 is responsible for assembling various subassemblies and/or finished products in the Production department. This includes performing functional tests, quality checks, and ensuring on-time deliveries. The position reports directly to the Production Leads and Production Supervisor.

** Essential Functions:

**

  • Report to work consistently and on time.
  • Follow SIG’s Cardinal Rules.
  • Work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
  • Interpret assembly drawings, verbal instructions, work instructions, and production boards.
  • Assemble various subassemblies and finished products.
  • Lubricate, align, and adjust assemblies for proper operation.
  • Perform operational tests using product checklists.
  • Utilize common hand tools (manual, air-driven, and battery), arbor presses, and hand trucks.
  • Prevent scrap and rework through careful workmanship.
  • Build products to established standards.
  • Identify and communicate process improvements and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Take initiative and seek out new challenges.
  • Report any malfunctioning tools or equipment immediately.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Demonstrate collaboration and team spirit.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Exercise judgment, initiative, and decision-making in dynamic environments.
  • Participate in group, departmental, and safety meetings.
  • Exceed customer expectations through quality work.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area (including adherence to 5S principles).
  • Package finished products and include all required components and documentation.
  • Record daily production data.
  • Assist with training of less experienced employees.
  • Read and understand blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Understand part/product specifications and tolerances in detail.
  • Become cross-trained on multiple assembly products.
  • Take leadership in safety, including observations, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), work instructions, and reporting.
  • Use hand tools to attach and fasten parts.
  • Use measuring tools to make precise dimensional measurements.
  • Perform quality checks using checklists.

** Position Qualifications:

**

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:

  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in a manufacturing assembly environment.
