Schedule : Monday – Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Pay Rate : $15.36/hourly
Job Summary:
The Human Services Department is seeking a reliable and professional Front Desk Clerk to provide administrative and customer service support. This position serves as the first point of contact for clients, staff, and visitors and is responsible for basic front desk and clerical duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist visitors, clients, and staff in a courteous and professional manner
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls
- Maintain front desk operations and ensure a welcoming environment
- Perform basic data entry and filing
- Receive, sort, and distribute mail and documents
- Assist department staff with clerical and administrative tasks as needed
- Handle irate or angry customers with professionalism, empathy, and appropriate de-escalation techniques while adhering to department policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous front desk, receptionist, or customer service experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills (email, data entry, Microsoft Office)
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable, punctual, and professional demeanor
