TITLE: ROOM SERVICE ATTENDANT Organizational Structure:
DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage
STATUS: Full-Time/Part-Time/Seasonal Non-Exempt (paid hourly/tips)
REPORTS TO: Chef & B
SUBORDINATES: N/a
Job Summary:
Responsible for set-up, deliver and retrieve all food and beverage orders to guest rooms and hospitality suites while ensuring quality service, guest satisfaction and the achievement/maintenance of Hilton standards and profit maximization
Essential Job Functions:
- Set-up and deliver all food and beverage orders in accordance with established guidelines, procedures and policies as prescribed by IHC Standards
- Conduct floor sweeps and retrieve all food and beverage trays in order to maintain established sanitation guidelines
- Set-up and deliver all VIP amenities
- Service all hospitality suites in accordance with BEO and established policy and procedures
- Complete all shift sidework as outlined in the hotel's operating policies and procedures
- Respond to customer needs, issues, comments and problems to ensure a quality experience and enhance future sales. Report all communications to immediate shift supervisor
- Perform all cash handling responsibilities in accordance with IHC policies and procedures
- Maintain all inventory of needed supplies
- Answer the telephone and take all customer orders in accordance with operating policies and procedures
- Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
- Participate in task forces and or committees as required

Qualification Summary:
Education & Experience:
- General Education High School GED Recommended
- General Education No Formal Education Required
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Experience One year of employment in a related field with this company or other organization(s) preferred but not necessary
- Skill English communication skills and hospitality skills
- Education High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred
- Experience Previous restaurant or hotel experience desired
- Skill Ability to multi-task

Stand or walk for long periods of time including for an entire work shift (8 hours) Lift, carry, push or pull up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds on occasion. Reach overhead and below the knee including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping. Exposure to harmful chemicals, odors and potentially infectious materials. Ability to work in a loud environment. Ability to talk and hear is required. Work in hot or cold environments (the kitchen/walk in freezer/outdoor temperature) Occasionally carry, lift or move objects weighing up to 100 pounds with assistance.

- Must be able to interact with guests in a friendly/fast manner.
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly, both oral and written in English.
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Must be able to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations including the ability to handle guest complaints and disputes while resolving them even if the situation did not begin with them.
- Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure. Must be respectful and maintain a calm demeanor.
- Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems.
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying concerns and issues raised by team members and guests.
Must be able to work with a myriad of personalities and levels within the hotel and outside sources
