Operating Room Coordinator
Location : Haymarket, VA
Pay: $35.00 – $40.00 per hour
Work Environment:
This role is based in Haymarket, VA and supports the Operating Room daily. The hospital is smaller than other facilities in the region, requiring efficiency, strong organization, and thoughtful use of time and materials.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00 AM-3:00 PM
Compensation and Benefits:
Pay Rate: $35.00 – $40.00/hour
Duration: 6-month Contract-to-Hire

About the Role:
The Operating Room Coordinator will be the sole procurement and inventory resource supporting the Operating Room. This individual will be responsible for overseeing inventory, ordering supplies, managing vendor coordination, and ensuring the OR is fully prepared for daily surgical cases. This role is critical to maintaining smooth operations, cost control, and efficiency within the department.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage day-to-day inventory for the Operating Room, ensuring supplies are available and up to date for scheduled procedures
• Oversee ordering, receiving, and distribution of OR supplies and equipment
• Coordinate vendor visits and medical equipment trials, ensuring vendors arrive on time with appropriate equipment for procedures
• Serve as the primary point of contact between vendors and OR staff
• Maintain accurate inventory levels to minimize waste and control costs
• Utilize Office 365 tools to track inventory, schedules, and operational data
• Support overall operational efficiency within a smaller hospital environment
Required Skills & Experience:
• Experience working in a healthcare or hospital environment
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently as the sole coordinator for OR inventory and procurement
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
