This opportunity seeks a skilled pharmacist specialized in hospital inpatient care, ready to work within a 13-week contract beginning Monday, April 20. Candidates must hold a valid Virginia pharmacist license at the time of application to be considered.
You will have the flexibility to choose between two shifts:
- Evening: 3:00 PM 11:30 PM
- Overnight: 8:30 PM 7:30 AM Monday through Thursday, and 7:30 PM 7:30 AM Friday through Sunday (7 nights on, 7 nights off)
Core responsibilities include verifying medication orders, managing drug interactions, and order entry while ensuring the safe and effective administration of IV medications, pain-controlled analgesia, and antibiotics. Preferred experience includes chemotherapy protocols, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing adjustments.
Key Qualifications:
- Must hold a Virginia pharmacist license at submission
- At least 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience; travel pharmacy experience is a plus
- Proficient with EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system for charting
- Demonstrated knowledge of hospital pharmacy standards, including IV therapy and order verification
Responsibilities:
- Verify and dispense medications accurately in a hospital inpatient setting
- Monitor patient therapy for safety and efficacy, including pain control and antibiotic management
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize pharmacologic care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation using the EPIC EMR system
