Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Kennel Attendant to join our team. As a Kennel Attendant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness, comfort, and overall well-being of our guests. Your primary responsibility will be to provide attentive care to dogs and cats, maintain a clean and organized facility, and assist with various tasks related to pet care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate care for dogs and cats, including feeding, watering, and administering medication as directed.
- Maintain clean and sanitary kennel areas, including cleaning cages, bedding, and play areas.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, promptly reporting any concerns to the supervisor or veterinary staff.
- Exercise and socialize animals in a safe and controlled manner.
- Adhere to feeding schedules and dietary instructions for each animal.
- Ensure that all animals receive adequate exercise, mental stimulation, and attention.
- Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming.
- Maintain accurate records of each animal's activities, behavior, and health.
- Assist with the intake and discharge process including completing necessary documentation.
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering client inquiries, and addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure a positive and safe environment for all animals and staff.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with animals in a professional capacity is preferred.
- Genuine love for animals and a strong desire to provide excellent care.
- Ability to handle animals with patience, kindness, and confidence.
- Basic knowledge of animal behavior and health.
- Physical fitness and ability to handle strenuous activities, including lifting heavy objects and restraining animals when necessary.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays and evenings.
