Medical Temporaries, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced ***Peer Recovery Specialist III***.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience required working with consumers with mental health and substance use challenges. Must have lived experience with substance abuse or mental health disorders.

This is a FULL TIME/TEMP position requiring flexible availability located in Norfolk, VA (23513) - 40 hours a week.

Responsibilities:

A Day in the life of a Peer Recovery Specialist:

Provides peer support services 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for rapid response, assessment and early intervention to individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis. Services are deployed in real-time to the location of the individual
experiencing a behavioral health crisis. The purpose of this service is to de-escalate the behavioral health crisis and prevent harm to the individual or others; assist in the prevention of an individual's acute exacerbation of symptoms and develop an immediate plan to maintain safety; and coordinate care and link to appropriate treatment services to meet the needs of the individual

Requirements for the Peer Recovery Specialist:

• Required: 2+ years of experience working with consumers with mental health and substance use challenges
• Required: MUST HAVE LIVED EXPERIENCE WITH SUBSTANCE ABUSE OR MENTAL HEALTH DISORDERS
• Required: CPR and Basic First Aid
• Required: Completion of the DBHDS 72-Hour Peer Recovery Specialist Training and Certified Peer Recovery Specialist
• Required: Ability to pass Background Check and Drug Screen
• Required: Must be reliable and a quick learner and have ability to multi-task with accuracy in a very busy environment
• Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Required: Possession of a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record as reported by the Department of Motor Vehicles
