Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated Junior Business Analyst to join our team at our DN1-HAWAII office. In this full-time position, you will support business process analysis, requirements gathering, and stakeholder engagement activities for government contracting projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals to develop their analytical skills while contributing to meaningful public sector initiatives. This position allows for overtime when required by project demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior analysts in gathering, documenting, and analyzing business requirements from government stakeholders and end users
  • Support the development of process flow diagrams, use cases, and functional specifications under guidance
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings and workshops to capture business needs and translate them into actionable requirements
  • Maintain requirements traceability matrices and documentation throughout project lifecycles
  • Conduct basic data analysis to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for process improvement
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) activities by developing test cases and documenting results
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, technical staff, and government clients
  • Prepare status reports, presentations, and briefing materials for internal and external audiences
  • Learn and apply government contracting standards, compliance requirements, and best practices
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies in current business processes

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of professional experience in business analysis, process improvement, or related analytical roles
  • Understanding of business analysis fundamentals including requirements elicitation, documentation, and validation
  • Basic knowledge of process modeling techniques and tools
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively in team environments and adapt to changing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Certifications / Licensure

  • No specific certifications required for this position

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Public Administration, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to government contracting environments or federal agency operations
  • Familiarity with Agile or Waterfall project management methodologies
  • Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps)
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Entry-level Business Analyst certification (e.g., ECBA) or working toward professional certification
  • Previous internship or project experience supporting government programs

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to work full-time at the DN1-HAWAII office location
  • Willingness to work overtime as project needs require
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required facility access or background checks as determined by contract requirements
  • Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive government information appropriately
