We are looking for an Appointment Clerk for a part-time civil contract position at Fairfax Health Center, a family clinic of Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center (formerly Fort Belvoir Community Hospital). This position is structured for up to 24 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with coverage primarily during the morning shift.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position provides a variety of clerical duties in support of patient care and treatment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Answer inquiries and obtain information for the general public, customers, visitors and other interested parties. Provide information regarding activities conducted at the establishment; location of departments, offices, and employees within the organization.
2. Performs a variety of receptionist and other clerical duties in support of patient care for the family practice, or like clinic, in FHCs. This will include but not be limited to open access scheduling and assist in creating a patient-centered health clinic.
3. Assist with other duties as needed and assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
2. Familiar with Microsoft Office applications Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Mail. Ability to learn new software, gather information and prepare reports.
   
3. Shall be able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate with patients and other staff members.
4. Must be US Citizen

SALARY AND BENEFITS

• $18.31 an hour
• PTO and sick leave
