Days: Mon - Fri (Flexible, maybe some Saturdays)

Hours: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (May vary)

Compensation: $30 to $45 per hour, Paid via W2 (on the books)

Private family in Charlottesville, VA seeks an experienced, discreet Housekeeper to maintain a high-standard, well-organized home. Responsibilities include detailed cleaning, expert laundry and ironing, and the careful care of fine furnishings. The ideal candidate is professional, adaptable, and comfortable working in a pet-friendly home with three cats and four dogs, contributing to a calm and smoothly run household. There are 3 cats and 4 dogs in the home.

Main Work Duties:

• Perform general housekeeping duties, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and polishing furniture and surfaces.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, living areas, and other spaces within the home.
• Make beds, change linens, and launder clothing, towels, and bedding as required.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, organizing pantry, and wiping down counters and appliances.
• Care for delicate items such as fine furniture, antiques, and artwork, ensuring proper cleaning methods are used.
• Perform laundry tasks, including washing, drying, ironing, and folding clothing, as well as managing the wardrobe for family members.
• Keep household cleaning supplies stocked and maintain inventory.
• Assist with organizing household items and ensuring the home is neat and clutter-free.
• Ensure high-touch areas (e.g., light switches, door handles, remote controls) are regularly cleaned and disinfected.
• Assist with special events or occasions, including setting up and cleaning up as needed.
• Report any maintenance issues or damages to the homeowner or household manager in a timely manner.
• Follow specific instructions from the homeowner regarding the care of certain areas, items, or family preferences.

• Experienced handling high-value furnishings, artwork, and personal items with care
• Mature, calm, and emotionally intelligent
• Fluent English speaker with clear communication skills
• Skilled at “reading the room” — understanding when to step away and maintain a discreet presence
• Naturally low-profile and not overly talkative
• Able to follow directions precisely while also anticipating needs
• Strong longevity in past roles, demonstrating loyalty and stability
• Team-oriented and able to work harmoniously with other household staff
• Exceptionally strong in traditional housekeeping duties, including detailed cleaning and expert at laundry and ironing
• This individual should maintain the highest standards of discretion, operate quietly and efficiently, and contribute to a smoothly run, polished household environment.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3+ solid years of housekeeping experience in a high net worth private home.
• Excellent references from both current and previous employers.
• Ability to work independently.
• Must speak and be able to communicate well in English.
• Authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
• Valid Driver's license and clean driving record
