The Systems Engineering & Test: Capabilities Directorate includes all the engineering disciplines responsible for systems design & tests on all Raytheon products. Our engineers are responsible for all elements of the development lifecycle for testing including test requirements, test system design, flight simulations, hardware-in-the-loop, computer-in-the-loop, advanced engineering prototyping technology, flight operations for manned and unmanned vehicles, environmental testing, environmental characterization, and engineering laboratory management. We are hands-on, designing with the latest technology and tools, and integrating state-of-the-art test solutions with the most advanced engineering systems in the world. Raytheon is seeking a Principal Support Engineer to manage and implement engineering lab strategic projects and day-to-day administrative functions within multiple engineering labs, with specific focus on safety, security, and compliance using established doctrine and governance. You will be creative and innovative, possessing strong organizational, coordination, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills. In the position, you must be able to collaborate with customers, employees, and senior leaders when implementing processes and procedural changes. This position is an onsite role in Portsmouth, RI. Travel as needed to support mission and program execution, locally within Northeast, as well as business travel to other US locations. **What You Will Do** + Lab Operating Procedure (LOP) Management; provide direction for lab users on established policies + Management, coordination and implementation of Environment Health Safety and SustainmentProperty & Metrology Management + Perform cost analysis, ensure task completion within approved budgets + Provide process support to Supply Chain Management (SCM) + Oversee audit/assessment preparation. Overseeing Engineering Lab Objective Evaluation and Voluntary Protection Program; develop corrective action plans and assist in the development of long-range objectives, including engineering customer goals + Safeguarding of classified/proprietary material, hardware, and documentation, utilizing defense material/property under Export Administration Regulations + Develop and implement communication plans, providing consulting support to functional and engineering customer management + Work to influence stakeholders within and outside responsible area at an operational level regarding policies, practices, and procedures + Work autonomously with limited oversight; provide professional input, guidance, and problem solving + This position requires some physical exertion while standing, sitting, or walking, working outside + Local travel in the general area is required, with occasional travel outside the local area **What You Will Learn** + Time management skills resulting from broad administrative management responsibilities + Strong communication skills across different levels **Qualifications You Must Have** + Typically requires A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum **5** years' prior relevant experience. + Experience in an engineering lab environment area such as safety, security, compliance and/or property management + The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required + U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance **Qualifications We Prefer** + Strong mechanical and/or electrical/electronic skills + Experience with OSHA/NFPA industrial policies and regulations + Experience with working directly with engineers, technicians and leadership in an engineering lab environment in the areas of safety, security, compliance and property management + Experience with EHS, NISPOM, JAFAN and Foreign Object Elimination + Ability to build positive, lasting relationships with customers + Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) **What We Offer** + Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
