Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse (RN) on our Cardiac Renal Pulmonary Care Unit you will support our 18-bed tele unit specializing in the care of acute and chronic kidney patients ranging from acute kidney injury, new start dialysis, peritoneal dialysis, or septic patients to any acutely-ill patient. Our med/surg cardiac patients are also stationed primarily on this unit and are connected to cardiac telemetry monitored by the RN. In addition to a fast-paced and positive environment, our unit recently won the PRIDE award which further exemplifies the outstanding nursing care our team offers!

What you will do in this role:

• Your Primary function in this role is to instruct and educate patients and their family members.
• As a member of CRPU you will administer all prescribed medications utilizing the 5 rights to medication administration, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs. 
• Our nursing team monitors, records and communicates patient conditions as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• You will serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care, including patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred. 
• Licensed a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or has a Compact license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
