Job Title: Special Education Teacher Assistant (SPED)
Location: Leesburg, VA 20176
Job Type: Contract (11 Weeks)

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday

• Hours: 8:50 AM – 3:40 PM

• Meal Break: 30 minutes

Pay Rate: $20 – $25 per hour

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education (SPED) Teacher Assistant to support students and classroom instruction. This role is essential in fostering a structured, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for students with diverse learning needs.

• Assist the lead teacher in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students

• Support classroom management and promote positive behavior

• Assist students with academic tasks, assignments, and activities

• Help with daily living activities as required

• Monitor student progress and communicate observations to the teacher

• Prepare instructional materials and classroom resources

• Ensure student safety and well-being at all times

• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support student success

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred

• Prior experience working with children or individuals with special needs preferred

• Basic understanding of special education practices and support strategies

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Patient, empathetic, and student-focused approach

• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team

• Good organizational and classroom management skills
