About the Position
TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Roanoke, Virginia, 24014!
Job Title: RN PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in Tele, PCU, DOU, IMC, or stepdown settings. License: Active Virginia State or Compact RN license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: EPIC charting experience required. Description: POSITION: RN PCU (General Medicine/Observation) Scheduling details: Shift hours are three 12-hour shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. Charting experience in EPIC is required. Weekend requirement may include working every other weekend or six weekend shifts in a six-week scheduling block. All requests for time off must be included upfront. The facility allows for call-offs of one shift every two weeks. Must work one holiday per 13-week contract. First-time travelers are accepted. The unit typically has a patient ratio of 1:4, with a goal ratio of 4:1. Telemetry is remote, but monitors remain on the unit. Floating within the skillset is required. The facility is a leading acute care facility with 703 licensed beds and recognized for nursing excellence. It serves as a Level I Trauma Center and offers comprehensive specialty services. All candidates must be prepared to provide patient care for adults and geriatrics. Required clinical skills include proficiency in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Experience with cardiac drips and IV therapy is essential. Candidates should have competency in chest tubes, trach care, and medication administration. Skills in respiratory management, including nasal cannula and CPAP, are necessary. Interdisciplinary support services include physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Candidates should be prepared to care for a diverse range of patient diagnoses. End of description.
