About the Role:
The Guest Room Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for all hotel guests. This position is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and orderliness in guest rooms and public areas, directly impacting guest satisfaction and overall hotel reputation. The role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to meet and exceed guest expectations. The Guest Room Attendant collaborates closely with housekeeping and maintenance teams to address any issues promptly and ensure rooms are guest-ready at all times. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to creating a positive and memorable experience for every guest during their stay.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards related to housekeeping.
- Ability to handle guest requests with professionalism and discretion.
- Basic proficiency in English or the primary language spoken at the hotel location.
- Certification in hospitality or housekeeping training programs.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize guest rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and replenishing supplies.
- Inspect rooms for maintenance issues and report any damages or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
- Ensure all guest amenities are stocked and arranged according to hotel standards.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and inquiries related to room services.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping carts and storage areas.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and hotel policies to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
- Collaborate with team members to complete daily cleaning assignments efficiently and effectively.

The Guest Room Attendant utilizes attention to detail daily to ensure every room meets the hotel's cleanliness standards, which directly affects guest satisfaction. Physical stamina and time management skills are essential to efficiently complete cleaning tasks within designated time frames. Communication skills are used to interact effectively with guests and team members, ensuring requests and issues are addressed promptly. Knowledge of cleaning products and safety procedures helps maintain a safe environment for both guests and staff. Additionally, problem-solving skills assist in identifying and reporting maintenance needs or guest concerns to the appropriate departments.
