Operator - ERT

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Responsible for the safe, efficient and quality-conscious unloading and loading of bulk and packaged commodities to or from marine vessels, railcars and trucks. Assure the work being performed consistently meets or exceeds the expectations of the supervisor, as well as published policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position assigned specific duties of moving products and warehousing under periodic supervision.

The Terminal Operator may be assigned to general duties in all areas of operations of the terminals.

Extensive training in railcar, truck, warehousing, vessel operations, safety and environmental training as required.

Operate dozers, front end loaders and heavy equipment as required (including track mobiles, dump truck and excavators)

Perform operations on docks and on vessels

Perform daily routine preventative maintenance on equipment

Perform housekeeping and general maintenance

Upkeep of assigned equipment or tools

Perform any other type of terminal function as trained and instructed by supervision

EDUCATIONA; High School diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE / SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE: 1 - 3 years experience in a similar environment

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must be able to obtain and maintain a TWIC clearance

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILLITIES:

Must meet and maintain certification for use of respiratory protective equipment as required by OSHA 1910.134

Must demonstrate aptitude to execute customer orders and maintain necessary records

Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details and follow work rule

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds (high physical demand level)

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Required to work in all types of weather conditions

Must be available to work all shifts and weekends including 12 hour shifts
