Systems Engineer - GCCS-J
Location: Newport News, VA - On-site Full-Time Required

Clearance Requirement: Active Secret Clearance
Program: Global Command and Control System - Joint (GCCS-J)
GCCS-J is the DoD's Joint Command and Control system of record, delivering a fused, real-time battlespace picture to commanders and warfighters. The modernization effort focuses on cloud-native architecture, microservices, enhanced data integration, improved user experience, and alignment with JADC2 objectives.
Position SummaryThe Systems Engineer supports the design, development, and modernization of GCCS-J by contributing to data architecture, requirements engineering, and end-to-end systems engineering activities. This role plays a key part in enabling data ingestion, synchronization, analytics, and system integration to ensure mission-critical capabilities align with operational, architectural, and cybersecurity requirements.
The engineer collaborates across cross-functional teams to translate mission needs into technical solutions while supporting system lifecycle activities from concept through deployment.
Key Responsibilities Data Architecture & ModelingContribute to the design of logical and physical data models
Support system architecture decisions using data modeling best practices
Support design and implementation of data ingestion pipelines
Assist in developing synchronization solutions to ensure data consistency across systems
Develop and maintain clear, testable requirements with defined acceptance criteria
Support requirements elicitation and stakeholder engagement
Analyze data and system behavior to generate insights and improve performance
Assess and enhance data quality, integrity, and consistency
Support system development across all phases of the lifecycle, from concept through deployment and sustainment
