Warehouse Operations Supervisor
The Warehouse Operations Supervisor coordinates, plans, monitors, and tracks all activities of the Warehouse. They are expected to be knowledgeable in all warehouse operations activities and are responsible for assigning workloads, training, and evaluating the performance of all warehouse operations employees.
Responsibilities
- Directly responsible for on time parts picking, put-away, shipping, preservation, and packaging of all parts in the warehouse.
- Ensures workflow balance and effectively interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Assists with devising/implementing standard operating procedures across all functions of the warehouse when applicable.
- Ensure and promote a safe and healthy work environment as demonstrated in individual work habits.
- Manages and implements a cycle-count program at each warehouse location to sustain at inventory accuracy level of more than 95% using A, B, C analysis.
- Assures the proficiency and proper training of all warehouse employees in required areas including the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for the transaction of sales, purchase receipts, storage locations, shipping, and re-distribution requirements; other Liebherr products, material handling equipment (MHE) and cranes.
- Implements processes and procedures to ensure that the warehouse KPI's are met.
- Manages proper communication, documentation and approvals for all inventory adjustments.
- Provides support to all warehouse operations employees by answering questions, providing instructions, advising on all phases of warehouse operations, and ensuring daily balance of workflow to team members.
- Supervises the physical and documentation flow of products/freight within the warehouse (incoming and outgoing) regarding all processes related to general inventory integrity and maximum efficiency.
- Supervises and/or checks of incoming shipments against the Bills of Lading/packing list for accuracy of piece count and condition, noting any corrections or changes on Bills of Lading ensuring the driver has signed, acknowledging discrepancies and/or damages.
- Supervises the checks of outbound shipments against the Bills of Lading/packing list for accuracy of piece count and condition, tracking any corrections or changes.
- Ensures the accuracy and quality of information on all warehouse operations documents.
- Ensures thorough, accurate and timely fulfillment of all orders.
- Ensures appropriate supply levels of required departmental and facility maintenance materials such as consumables, crating, packaging, janitorial, etc.
- Is knowledgeable in international shipments with both containers and airfreight, as required. Create Bills of Ladings (BOLs) and custom packing lists, as required per warehouse location
- Ensure shipments for International, Hazmat, are prepared, marked properly and have required documentation.
- Investigates, resolves, and coordinates shipping, stocking, and receiving discrepancies.
- Tracks, monitors, and addresses error rates by individual warehouse operations employees and as a group.
- Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance/procurement, quality of product, and warehouse employee work efficiencies to include workload distribution and overtime.
- Responsible for establishing and upholding assigned 6S (Safety, Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) standards in the warehouse.
- Oversee proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials, when applicable.
- Supervisory Duties:
- Directly supervises and manages assigned employees in the warehouse, to include Associates, Leads, Specialists.
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of Warehouse Operations team.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities and accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Competencies
- Associate's degree with 4 years of related experience; or Bachelor's degree with 2 years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to 6 years or more.
- Travel domestically and internationally up to 5% of the time.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Ability to maintain forklift and crane certification, as required
- Ability to work on call and weekends, when required.
