The individual will work under the supervision of the Safety Director and support safety efforts for projects across Florida, especially between the St. Petersburg and Melbourne region. This role is responsible for overseeing jobsite activities and enforcing established safety strategies. Strong computer skills, a proactive attitude, professional demeanor, and the ability to manage multiple tasks are essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist in executing the company’s safety strategy and promoting a zero-accident culture across projects
- Prepare and deliver project-specific job site orientations
- Provide orientation and instruction for new site personnel
- Monitor daily construction activities to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company policies
- Develop and conduct Toolbox Talks
- Participate in safety meetings and weekly job site progress meetings
- Conduct incident reporting and investigations
- Collect and review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
- Perform job site safety audits
- Share audit results and safety trends with the Safety Director and Project Management team
- Participate in all required safety training
- Manage Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Serve as a safety resource for employees and subcontractors within assigned areas
- Support job site safety awareness and implementation of the project Accident Prevention Plan
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Degree in Safety or a related field
- Experience in a commercial construction environment preferred
- OSHA 30 certification
- Training or education in Occupational Safety & Health
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certification
- Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations for the construction industry
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong conflict resolution skills
