Business Analyst,

The Business Analyst will support business process design and system delivery for Virginia Tax's eForms/WebUpload system. This role involves serving as a liaison between development, business, and testing teams to define software and system requirements. The analyst will gather requirements, prepare system design documents, and ensure alignment with business needs throughout the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct interviews with business users/clients to determine business and technology requirements.
- Prepare General System Design documents containing business rules and specifications.
- Interface with applications development, business staff, and testing teams to define software and system requirements.
- Coordinate and lead process reviews between business users/clients, applications development, and testing staff.
- Analyze and document solutions to complex business problems.
- Collect, interpret, and present data using SQL for data gathering, analysis, and research.
- Ensure General System Designs are properly stored using version controls such as Team Foundation Server (TFS).
- Provide effort estimates for assigned applications.
- Perform knowledge transfer sessions to train other functional analysts.
- Manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities, meeting deadlines.
- Adhere to agile, waterfall, and other work management practices.

Required Skills & Certifications:

- Prior Business Analyst experience (3 years).
- Excellent Problem Solving skills (3 years).
- Experience developing Functional documentation, best practices, and troubleshooting guides for business solutions (3 years).
- Proficient in use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint (3 years).
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Prior Tax experience (3 years).

Special Considerations:

- Must physically reside within the US for the duration of the assignment.
- Must be available for both virtual and in-person interviews, if requested.
- This is an onsite/hybrid position, requiring minimally three days per week in office.
