Grounds Keeper

We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Grounds Keeper & Maintenance Worker with at least 1 year of experience working on horse farms or similar agricultural environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in groundskeeping, and maintenance. This role involves working outdoors in all weather conditions and performing various tasks to maintain the grounds, farm equipment, and facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient environment for the horses. Must work well in a team environment, with a positive attitude.

Groundskeeping: Maintain and care for the farm's grounds, including pastures, paddocks, walkways, and riding arenas. Regularly mow, trim, and edge the lawns, fields, and pastures to keep the property tidy and safe for horses. Clear debris, fallen branches, and weeds from fields, barns, and outdoor areas. Maintain and repair fencing, gates, and posts to ensure that animals are kept safely within designated areas. Assist with seasonal tasks such as leaf collection, snow removal, and mud control in paddocks.

Maintenance: Perform general maintenance and repairs of farm structures, including barns, stables, and storage areas. Assist in maintaining farm machinery and tools, including tractors, lawnmowers, and snow removal equipment. Ensure that all equipment is in good working order and report any malfunctions or needed repairs. Assist in setting up or maintaining riding arenas, paddocks, and turnout areas. Monitor the drainage systems, ensuring proper water flow and preventing flooding in critical areas. Keep all tools, equipment, and materials organized and properly stored. Ensure that manure is regularly collected and disposed of appropriately. Assist in the maintenance of paddocks and fields to prevent any hazards to the horses or staff.

Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in groundskeeping, maintenance, or farm work, preferably on a horse farm. Experience in operating and maintaining heavy-duty equipment such as tractors, mowers, and other landscaping machinery. Ability to perform general farm maintenance, including minor repairs on structures and equipment. Physical ability to perform demanding outdoor work, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to maintain the farm's grounds and facilities. Good communication skills for reporting issues and working with farm management. Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
