Insulation Technician (Hiring Immediately)

Position Summary

Manage a route providing pest prevention and inspection services to residential clients. Manage existing accounts and is responsible for the growth of the route. Provide professional, friendly, cordial service to clients, work to build strong relationships and solve problems, and try Enhanced recommend actions to prevent future pest control problems.

Position Requirements:

• Insulation Installation:

Install various types of insulation (e.g., cellulose, fiberglass) in attics, walls, and crawl spaces, ensuring proper sealing and preventing air leaks.

• Pest Control Measures:

Implement pest control strategies, including setting up and maintaining exclusion traps, applying pest-resistant materials (like borate-treated insulation), and removing trapped animals.

• Customer Interaction:

Communicate effectively with customers about pest control services, explain the benefits of pest control insulation, and address any customer concerns.

• Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all relevant safety regulations and procedures, particularly when working with chemicals, in confined spaces, or at heights.

• Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate records of services provided, including inspections, treatments, and inspections.

• Technical Skills:

Learn and apply knowledge of pest control techniques, insulation types, and construction practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Basic Skills:

Good communication, both written and verbal, strong customer service skills, and basic math skills.

• Physical Stamina:

Able to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.

• Technical Skills:

Understanding of pest control techniques, insulation types, and related construction knowledge.

• Safety Awareness:

Understanding of safety regulations and procedures, particularly when working with chemicals or in hazardous environments.

• Licensure:

Pest control licensure may be required, depending on the specific location.

Experience:

Some prior experience in pest control or insulation work may be preferred.

• Other:

May require a clean driving record, as company vehicles may be used for work.

Position Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates a positive attitude towards work
• Participate fully in training opportunities provided to enhance knowledge and to meet requirements for licensing.
• Represent APS by wearing a clean company uniform and appropriate footwear and maintaining personal hygiene.
• Friendly, pleasant, courteous, and professional when dealing with clients, government, vendors, and coworkers.
• Cooperative, willing to share knowledge, cross-train, and take on additional responsibilities.
• Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.
• Jobs require standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Be able to pass background checks to include drugs, clearance, etc.
• Valid Driver’s license- no more than 2 points *
• Valid Commonwealth of Virginia Registered/Certified Pesticide Technician Certification in MD or DC. *

Ideal candidates have experience as a pest control technician and/or pest control specialist, rodent abatement and insulation.

Compensation details: 18-24 Hourly Wage
