• Position Type: Locum Tenens Radiation Therapist (Travel Contract)
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital-based Radiation Oncology (primary: 1240 Lee Street; may float to Moser location, 2871 Ivy Road)
• Start Date: September 2, 2025
• End Date: December 2, 2025 (potential extension through January 3, 2026)
• Shift: Day shifts, 5x8-hour (8:00am–4:30pm or 10:00am–6:30pm, may vary)
• Weekly Hours: 40
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2120–$2180
• Weekend Coverage: No weekends required
• Patient Demographics: Adolescents, Infants, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics

Qualifications – Radiation Therapist Jobs in Virginia

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist in a hospital or outpatient radiation oncology center
• Valid Virginia state license or eligibility for temporary licensure (active license in another state)
• ARRT (T) certification required for radiation therapy
• BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Proficiency with ARIA charting and Epic EMR systems
• Experience with Varian TrueBeam technology preferred
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Professional references required

Radiation Therapist Responsibilities

• Administer safe and effective radiation therapy treatments using advanced equipment (TrueBeam, ARIA)
• Conduct patient simulations, dose distributions, and assist with specialized procedures (intracavity/interstitial administration, stereotactic radiosurgery)
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in ARIA and Epic healthcare charting systems
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care
• Float to other Charlottesville healthcare locations within scope of practice as needed
• Follow all safety protocols and infection control standards
• Deliver compassionate clinical support to patients of all ages
