Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years OR RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Schedule/Hours:

• Contract position with variable shifts as determined by department needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Current and valid RN license
• Previous experience in an operating room setting preferred
• BLS certification (additional certifications such as ACLS are a plus)
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with surgical teams, patients, and families
• Proficiency with perioperative documentation and electronic medical records
• Solid understanding of sterile techniques and infection control
• Skill in handling surgical equipment, instrumentation, and supplies

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms and equipment for different surgical procedures
• Safeguard patient welfare by monitoring vital signs and responses to anesthesia
• Act as a patient advocate, ensuring comfort, privacy, and procedural understanding
• Assist surgeons and surgical staff before, during, and after procedures
• Maintain strict adherence to all safety and infection control protocols
• Provide efficient turnover and preparation for subsequent cases
• Document all aspects of perioperative care accurately and thoroughly
• Support postoperative transfer and recovery processes
