Program Overview

RIVA Solutions supports the National Science Foundation’s Office of Legislative and Public Affairs (OLPA) by delivering high-quality writing, editing, and content development services that communicate complex scientific topics to diverse audiences. This work spans speeches, congressional testimony, web content, printed publications, digital campaigns, scripts, and multi-channel communication products that advance NSF’s mission and scientific impact.

RIVA’s support ensures that OLPA maintains clear, accurate, accessible, and compelling messaging aligned with federal communication standards, including the Plain Writing Act and Section 508 accessibility requirements.

Position Overview

RIVA Solutions is seeking a Web Developer to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of public-facing and internal web platforms supporting the National Science Foundation’s Office of Legislative and Public Affairs (OLPA).

This role will contribute to content-driven websites and internal collaboration platforms built on modern content management systems, working closely with UX designers, graphic designers, content strategists, and stakeholders to implement accessible, reliable, and user-friendly web solutions that support public communication, legislative affairs, and internal operations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Drupal-based websites
  • Support content updates, page templates, components, and modules within Drupal
  • Maintain and enhance SharePoint-based intranet sites, including page layouts, content structures, and user permissions
  • Collaborate with UX and graphic design teams to translate designs into functional web experiences
  • Ensure all web content and functionality comply with Section 508 accessibility standards and federal web requirements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to site performance, usability, and accessibility
  • Support integration of multimedia content, forms, and interactive features
  • Implement responsive front-end solutions using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Follow best practices for code quality, security, and maintainability
  • Participate in testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance activities
  • Provide technical recommendations for improving web platforms and user experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Professional experience developing and maintaining websites or web applications
  • Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks or libraries
  • Experience developing responsive and accessible web interfaces
  • Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) , such as Drupal.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting federal or public-sector web platforms
  • Experience working with content-heavy or high-visibility websites
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams with designers and content authors

Salary Range

Up to $120 ,000 per year, based on experience
