Your Key Responsibilities

• Performing thorough patient assessments, devising individualized care strategies, and ordering necessary diagnostic procedures
• Diagnosing and managing acute, chronic, or episodic illnesses, either in partnership with physicians or independently, pending your credentialing
• Providing educational resources to patients and their families regarding wellness, disease prevention, and management

Requirements for Success

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Certification Necessities

• A valid Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Virginia
• Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or equivalent specialty credential
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or the ability to obtain within 90 days)
