Tactical Communicator

The Opportunity
A GSC Tactical Communicator provides direct support to Mobile Security Deployments (MSD), enabling mission success by managing advanced communications networks in austere environments. This role ensures the delivery of secure, reliable, and interoperable voice and data systems in support of globally distributed tactical operations and operations monitoring centers.
Key Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)
- Deploy, operate, and maintain secure voice and data networks, including SATCOM, LMR systems, P25 radio networks, and MANETs
- Ensure communications network security and COMSEC compliance, including loading, handling, and zeroization of supported equipment
- Provide troubleshooting and real-time operational support for communications and data systems
- Train personnel on proper equipment operation, security, and handling procedures
- Integrate communications systems with existing infrastructure and fielded platforms, including C4ISR systems
- Produce and maintain engineering documentation, equipment accountability records, and site/event reports
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Must have active Secret or higher Security clearance; and meet the eligibility to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
Required Skills, Experience & Abilities
- 5+ years experience supporting communication systems for tactical teams that deploy (i.e. Military, Law Enforcement, Federal Government deployment teams).
- Experience in installing, maintaining, and removing communications equipment supporting field operations and/or operation centers
- Experience with OPSEC and COMSEC procedures
- Knowledge of military/emergency procedures, as well as tactical reporting formats
- Physical ability to carry and work using body armor and tactical communication gear
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with developing and deploying ad hoc communications systems
- Experience with designing local area networks for specific use case
- Experience with generating full communications mission plans for radio platforms
- Knowledge of communication protocols
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

- Prolonged periods of standing or presenting information briefings
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in austere field conditions.
- Frequent use of power tools and hand tools to install and remove communications equipment
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.
- Clear vision and hearing required for meetings, presentations, and communication.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time, which may include extended periods of standing, walking, or navigating airports and government facilities.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time Ability to withstand abnormal environmental conditions
- Work environment may involve hazardous/deployed environments (CONUS/OCONUS), as well as extended deployment periods away, shift work including overnight, and high stress conditions
- Work may require residence on or within a secure compound for extended periods of time on deployment
- The noise level in the work environment varies from moderate office noise to loud conditions in austere environments
- Professional office environment with standard office equipment (computers, phones, printers).
- Frequent interaction with clients, executives, and government officials in both in-person and virtual settings.
- Regular travel to customer sites, government facilities, and industry events.
- Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment requiring adaptability and responsiveness.
- Work may occasionally be performed in secure government facilities, requiring adherence to security protocols.
- This position may involve travel to government test sites, training ranges, and operational locations, including potential OCONUS destinations for short or extended periods of time. Work may be conducted in laboratory, workshop, office, and field environments with varying conditions.
- Position located in Northern, Va with up 30% CONUS & OCONUS travel
