Job Title: Hydraulic Crane Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Crane Operator capable of operating friction, cable, and hydraulic cranes. The successful candidate will efficiently manage waterside cranes to discharge cargo from vessels to shore while ensuring safety and precision.

Responsibilities

• Operate waterside cranes to transfer cargo from vessels to shore.
• Maintain and repair cranes as instructed.
• Coordinate effectively with vessel personnel and complete required documentation for cargo transfer.
• Participate in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of cranes and related gear.
• Perform general duties in all areas of terminal operations as assigned.
• Engage in refresher training in maintenance, operations, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Conduct housekeeping and general maintenance tasks as needed.
• Execute any other terminal function as trained and instructed by supervisors.

Essential Skills

• Experience in machine operating and crane operation.
• Knowledge of production processes in heavy industry.
• General labor experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Capability to work at heights up to 80 feet.
• Demonstrated ability to execute and maintain necessary records.

• Strong team collaboration skills.
• Ability to take direction from supervisors.
• Attention to detail and adherence to work schedules and rules.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, nights, and some holidays.

Work Environment

The role requires working outdoors, including accessing stairs and working at heights. Candidates should be comfortable with working in various weather conditions, including rain.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
