Position Summary

Pendleton Solutions is seeking an experienced Industrial Security Specialist to support high-visibility Department of Defense programs responsible for protecting critical defense technologies and mission-critical infrastructure. This position serves as a trusted security advisor responsible for establishing, coordinating, and implementing industrial security requirements supporting classified facilities, supply chain operations, secure infrastructure, and domestic and international program activities.

The successful candidate will provide industrial security expertise across Special Access Programs (SAP), collateral programs, and classified facilities while ensuring compliance with the National Industrial Security Program (NISP), Department of Defense directives, and customer security requirements. This role requires strong collaboration with government stakeholders, facility planners, engineers, and mission partners throughout the planning, construction, accreditation, and operational lifecycle of classified facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary Industrial Security Specialist supporting classified Department of Defense programs and facilities.
  • Manage and oversee industrial security activities protecting classified information entrusted to U.S. industry under the National Industrial Security Program (NISP).
  • Advise government leadership and stakeholders on industrial security requirements, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement security strategies supporting mission success while protecting sensitive technologies and national security information.
  • Support security planning for classified CONUS and OCONUS Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul & Update (MRO&U), depot, and supply warehouse facilities.
  • Coordinate security requirements supporting new construction, facility modifications, and infrastructure modernization efforts.
  • Assist in defining facility security requirements supporting classified operations.
  • Monitor security activities throughout construction until facilities receive final accreditation.
  • Support secure facility accreditation activities and ensure compliance with applicable physical security standards.
  • Brief and coordinate SAP and collateral security requirements with government organizations and mission partners.
  • Participate in facility planning activities, including design reviews and security working groups.
  • Support the development, coordination, and documentation of Facility Requirements Documents (FRDs).
  • Identify personnel security clearance requirements and Special Access Program (SAP) access requirements supporting classified facilities.
  • Support Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) activities protecting classified technologies and critical infrastructure.
  • Evaluate security risks affecting suppliers, contractors, facilities, and mission partners.
  • Recommend mitigation strategies to reduce operational and supply chain vulnerabilities.
  • Interpret and apply government security policies, directives, and industrial security requirements.
  • Conduct security assessments, inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Identify security vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support security inspections, self-assessments, and inspection readiness activities.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, contractors, engineering teams, and facility personnel to ensure security requirements are fully integrated throughout project execution.
  • Develop and deliver security briefings and technical recommendations to leadership and project teams.
  • Prepare reports, meeting summaries, and security documentation supporting program objectives.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility (current within the last five years).
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain SAP access.
  • Subject to a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph if required by the customer.
  • Bachelor's degree and seven (7) years of specialized industrial security experience, or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting industrial security programs within the Department of Defense or other classified environments.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM)
    • Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM)
    • Department of Defense security directives
    • Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs)
    • JAFAN Security Manuals
    • Physical and Industrial Security principles
  • Experience supporting classified facility planning, construction, or accreditation activities.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to brief senior government and contractor leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint).
  • Ability to work onsite in Arlington, Virginia.
  • Must meet customer suitability requirements.

  • Security engineering or secure construction projects
  • Government acquisition, logistics, depot, or sustainment programs
  • Professional security certifications such as SPēD, CPP®, ISP®, or equivalent
Travel Requirements
  • Ability to travel throughout the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS), as required.
  • Limited regional travel may be required.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. passport or be able to obtain one prior to travel.
