Healthcare Collections Associate

Ready to take ownership of insurance AR and make a real impact on revenue cycle performance? We’re looking for a detail-driven Healthcare Collections Associate who thrives on resolving claims, working directly with payers, and keeping accounts moving toward payment.

In this high-visibility role, you’ll partner with insurance companies and patients to research outstanding balances, resolve denials, and ensure clean, timely reimbursement. If you enjoy investigative work, payer communication, and fast-paced AR follow-up — this is your lane.

What You’ll Own

• Proactively call insurance carriers to follow up on unpaid or denied claims
• File and submit insurance claims accurately and efficiently
• Research claim discrepancies and drive accounts to resolution
• Prepare and submit appeals with strong supporting documentation
• Manage patient accounts and respond to billing and balance inquiries
• Post insurance and patient payments within the billing system
• Verify eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements
• Perform soft collections outreach on past-due patient balances when needed
• Maintain thorough documentation of all account activity
• Ensure full compliance with HIPAA and revenue cycle best practices
• Meet productivity and quality benchmarks in a high-volume environment

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 3–5 years of insurance billing, AR follow-up, or healthcare collections experience
• Strong working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers
• Comfortable navigating payer portals and researching claim status
• Sharp attention to detail with a knack for spotting and fixing issues
• Confident phone presence and professional communication style
• Highly organized with the ability to manage aging reports and priorities
• Team player mindset with strong accountability and follow-through
• Solid computer and data entry skills in a Windows-based environment

Work Style

This is a fully onsite role in a fast-paced healthcare setting where focus, consistency, and persistence drive success. You’ll spend much of your day on the phone with payers, working reports, and pushing accounts toward payment.
